KEPCO Research Institute Signs Agreement for 150MW-Class Gas Turbine Hydrogen Co-Firing Retrofit Technology Development and Demonstration Project
On the 11th, the KEPCO Research Institute (President Lee Joong-ho) signed an agreement with 17 organizations, including government agencies, power generation companies, and academic and research institutions, for the development and demonstration of 150MW-class gas turbine hydrogen co-firing retrofit technology.
This agreement was established to contribute to achieving greenhouse gas reduction goals in the power generation sector. Participating organizations include KEPCO, Hanwha Power Systems, Korea Western Power, Korea Southern Power, Doosan Enerbility, and 14 other institutions.
Hydrogen, a zero-carbon fuel, is gaining attention as a key solution for reducing greenhouse gas emissions from gas turbine combined-cycle power plants.
